All classes take place on Thursdays in Spencerport for the full school year. Additional class times may be added as semester extensions to meet seat time requirements (these will be announced prior to registration).

ART 120: Painting I (3 credits)

Kerina Mangiaracina

This course provides a foundational experience with painting. Exploration of the methods, materials, and concepts of acrylic painting will be carried out in a studio setting. Through specifically assigned problems, the beginning painting student will develop a visual painting vocabulary. Color theory, pictorial composition, figure/ground relationships, visual perception, spatial concepts, and critical thinking skills will all be emphasized. Participation in individual and group critiques of work produced during the course is required. Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials for this course. 

Details: This course will take place on Thursdays from 8:30 am to 10 am, for 12 weeks in the fall and 12 weeks in the winter semester during Branches in Spencerport with some additional class times to meet course requirements. Students may sign up for dual enrollment classes a la carte. Students must commit to the entire year.

  • Dual Enrollment Fees: $250 plus Branches tuition or $25 per class for Dual Enrollment only payable to Grace Collaborative, $251 payable to Monroe Community College. If you are eligible for free and reduced lunch, the MCC fee is waived. Click here for eligibility information.

BIO 155: Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology (4 credits)

Dr. David Johnson

Principles of biology with an emphasis on cellular structure and function, and evolution. Topics will include cellular metabolism, molecular genetics, Mendelian genetics, natural selection and speciation. The laboratory features activities and experiments that reinforce the concepts presented in lecture. This course is one of two foundation courses in introductory biology for science majors or science-interested students. This course is chemistry-intensive and is best approached with a strong background in math and chemistry.. This class is 4 credit hours.

Details: This course will take place on Thursdays, from 10-11 am for 12 weeks in the fall and 12 weeks in the winter semester during Branches in Spencerport with some additional class times to meet course requirements. Students may sign up for dual enrollment classes a la carte. Students must commit to the entire year.

  • Dual Enrollment Fees: $275 payable to Grace Collaborative plus Branches tuition or $25 for Dual Enrollment only, $334 payable to Monroe Community College (for 4 credits).   • Materials: The text is OpenStax Biology 2e. It’s available as a free PDF. You can purchase a physical copy if you’d like, but there’s no need to do so. Grace will also collect a $25 fee for the year to help cover the in-class supply costs.

ENG 101: Principles of Writing (3 credits)

Laura Ricklefs, M Ed

English Composition is designed to prepare you for the challenges and expectations of college-level expository writing. Focus will be placed on following the conventions of standard written English: sentence structure, grammar usage, punctuation, and spelling. The work you do in this course will help you not only throughout your academic career, but also in your life outside of the classroom. This class is 3 credit hours.

Details: This course will take place on Thursdays, from 11 am to 12 pm, for 12 weeks in the fall and 12 weeks in the winter semester during Branches in Spencerport with some additional class times to meet course requirements. Students may sign up for dual enrollment classes a la carte. Students must commit to the entire year.

SPC 142: Public Speaking (3 credits)

Gil Stern

Primarily concerned with the source and substance of ideas, evidence, and reasoning that form the basis for good oral communication. Students will write and present original speeches applying these ideas and the principles of organization, clarity, vitality, and ethics. When speaking, students will learn effective ways to use voice and body language to communicate a message and meet time/deadline expectations. This class is 3 credit hours.

Details: This course will take place on Thursdays time TBD for 12 weeks in the fall and 12 weeks in the winter semester during Branches in Spencerport. Students may sign up for dual enrollment classes a la carte. Students must commit to the entire year.

ECO 103: Personal Money Management (3 credits)

Emily Bennett, M Ed

A very practical course which teaches you how to create a financial plan to realize goals, such as home ownership and early retirement. By taking this course, you will learn how to avoid credit trouble, save money on automobile purchases, and buy a desirable home. You will also learn how to protect yourself from financial disaster through the purchase of the lowest cost and safest insurance policies. Finally, you will learn how to make your money grow by investing in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Using the techniques you learn in this class will allow you to plan, save, and spend wisely so you and your family will enjoy a better way of life. This class is 3 credit hours.

Details: This course will take place on Thursdays from 1:45 to 2:35, for 12 weeks in the fall and 12 weeks in the winter semester during Branches in Spencerport. Students may sign up for dual enrollment classes a la carte. Students must commit to the entire year.
