Join us for our 8th Annual Juried Art Show! It’s an amazing opportunity for students to display their work and receive feedback from professional artists (if they choose to). This is great for resume building for older students or simply a great experience for younger students. Join us for this opportunity to dress up a little and display your hard work!

Our 2026 Art Show will take place during our Spring Arts Exhibition on Saturday, April 25th, 2026. Artwork may be viewed throughout the event. The event will be held at Pearce Memorial Church for students in Pre-K through High School.

Artwork set up will be Friday, April 24th from 6-8 pm. The registration deadline is April 18th, 2026 at 9 pm. Students are responsible for setting up their own artwork on the tables provided.

Please note that this is a relaxed but semi-formal event. There will not be childcare or a play area available; therefore all children in attendance must be accompanied and monitored by parents for the entirety of the event.

Art Show Details

The art show is open to students in grades PreK-12 regardless of where they attend school (homeschool, private school or public school) with ribbons awarded by age. Age groups will be Pre-K, K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12th grade. Pre-K will not be judged, other students will have the option of choosing judging or not.

The cost is $12 per student to display a 3 piece portfolio for judging and $10 to participate without judging. Students will have all artwork returned to them the day of the show. We encourage students to choose three different styles of art to show their versatility. Water color, acrylic, sculpture, ceramics, etc. may be entered. This year we will not be including photography.

Meet Our Judges

Marika Ratkeviciute was one of our first art teachers at Grace. She works primarily in printmaking and sculpture (including metal casting), exploring the role of memory in identity formation, life transitions, and the liminal spaces between past and future. Her practice often incorporates repetitive processes that embrace chance and transformation—mirroring how personal narratives and relationships evolve over time.

Marika earned her MFA in Studio Art from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2019 and her BFA from Columbia College Chicago in 2014. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at RIT, teaching Foundations Drawing and Drawing for non-majors, where she emphasizes independent thinking and collaborative problem-solving.

Melody Wallace, earned her Associates in Graphic Design and Fine Arts from Genesee Community College and is currently pursuing a Bachelors at SUNY Brockport. She is an Eagle Scout, life guard and a Grace Collaborative graduate. The Grace Art Show started because of Melody’s love of art and she’s excited to return as a judge. You can view some of her work here.

Aubrey Donovan

Aubrey Donovan has a background in art and education programming spanning seventeen years, co-dedicating thirteen years to therapeutic services. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a Master of Science in Creative Arts Therapy from Nazareth University (formally Nazareth College).

Aubrey is a native of Webster. She currently resides in Perinton with her husband, three children, dog, and two ferrets.

The Rules

  1. Students’ artwork must be original work and not from a tutorial or produced during an art class under the direction of a professional artist.  Students may submit art work from a homework assignment, as long as it was not a tutorial and feedback was only given after the assignment was turned in.
  2. Work must have been created during this academic school year.
  3. Entries should exclude violence that would be disturbing to young children such as blood, gore, violence and sexual nudity. Comic book style violence is allowed.
  4. Students must submit 3 pieces in order to be judged. Each judge will score one piece, and each piece is worth 25 points for a total possible score of 75. Students who submit fewer than 3 pieces for judging will receive a participation ribbon.

Judging Criteria

This year students may choose whether or not they’d like to participate in the juried portion of the art show. The registration form will allow students to choose. Should they select judging, they will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Uniqueness, originality and creativity
  • Neatness and craft (skills related to that specific medium)
  • Design and composition (balance, movement and rhythm)
  • Visual Impact and presentation
  • Color or value (harmony, balance, effect of light)

Students must submit 3 pieces. Each can earn 1-5 points in each category from each judge (25 points per judge from 3 judges) for a total possible score of 75.

Awards correspond to the following scores:

  • Blue Ribbon: 66-75
  • Red Ribbon: 56-65
  • White Ribbon 46-55
  • Honorable Mention 36-45
